FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
(or Fastidiously Advanced Queries)

What is your curriculum like?

Classically-oriented Charlotte Mason-style approach with a distinctly Christian worldview.

1st-2nd grade - This group spends a

3rd-4th grade -

I've never homeschooled before.  IS aleithia a good choice for me?

Except in rare and extenuating circumstances, we require that incoming families have at least one year of home schooling under their belts.  The rigor of homeschooling can catch some by surprise, and Aleithia's role is to hold parents and students accountable to run the race diligently.

Is the ELementary and Middle School program a drop-off program?

Yes.  Tuesdays are ALC's EL/MS program and Fridays are the HS program.  Not only do many students report that the ALC day is their favorite day of the week, so do many parents since it affords a bit of time to get things done at home.  If you live a distance away and need suggestions for how to fill the hours, the local library and the nearby Dunkin Donuts pair well together.

Do parents volunteer?

ALC would not be able to function well without the gracious volunteer help of its its constituents.  However, the committees and various service opportunities are optional, and first-year families are generally not called upon to help as they are getting accustomed to our prgram.

DO PARENTS TEACH CLASSES?

Our classes are taught by salaried teachers who are degree-holding, academically certified, or highly qualified to teach their subject.
